Elie Wiesel had many reasons for writing Night. One was that he wanted to write an autobiography over his life when he was 15 years old. He also wanted people to know what happened so that it could never happen again. He was very upset when he was creating the abridged version because he didn’t want to leave anything out of the original version. Joseph Goebbels was the minister of propaganda and national enlightenment.
1. Nazi’s controlled the radio and made sure that only positive Nazi information was broadcasted.
2. They also controlled film and made many propaganda films that were focused on Jews, the greatness of Hitler, and the way of life for German civilians.
3. Hitler also wanted everyone to hear him speak so he sold radios cheap and also put loud speakers in the streets.
Kristallnacht/ The Final Solution/ Wannsee Conference
Kristallnacht means “Night of Broken Glass” in which German civilian’s burred Jewish shops and synagogues. They even killed 91 Jews.
High ranking Nazi officials and German officials met on January 20, 1942. They discussed genocide of the Jews. The final solution was to annihilate European Jews.
